3 Things to know about Man Made Beach in Palmer, Alaska
I love Man Made Beach in Palmer, Alaska. It took us a few years to find it after we moved here. But now we go multiple times a year. Here are 3 things you need to know about Man Made Beach.
It is cold! Be prepared to be cold. Eventually you get used to it, and it’s really nice on a hot day. But, it is fed by a glacier fed river. If you are looking for a warm lake to get into, this is not it.
The views are to die for. This is a great spot if you want to show off what a beautiful place you spent the day at. A mountain range is right across the river, and the reflection of the mountains is something that you can capture. This is really Alaska at it’s finest. Simply breathtaking.
It’s so much fun. Some days it’s busy, and some days isn’t not. We like to go in the evening, have a hot dog roast, and kayak in the lake. Invite some friends to go with you, and you’ll have a blast.
Now that you’re excited about visiting the lake, how do you get there? Go through the Butte towards Knik River Road. As soon as you cross the Knik River Bridge, turn left onto the Knik River Road. Follow that for I’m guessing about a mile or two. On the left hand side with a camping sign.
